BUMPER FALLS EXTEND SNOW SEASON AT MT BULLER

Mt Buller have confirmed the snow season will be extended by a week to the end of the Victorian school holidays on Sunday 8 October.

Thanks to bumper spring snowfalls of 50+cms in recent days, the best recorded September snowfalls since 1992, the resort confirmed the ski area will remain open for an extra week to make the most of the excellent snow cover much to the delight of skiers and snowboarders.

Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied said, “We have 180cms of deep and good quality snow cover on our ski runs and more cold and snowy weather in the forecast so it’s an ideal opportunity to keep the lifts rolling and invite snow lovers to enjoy this very wintry September and ski for another week.”

Resort Management Board CEO Mark Bennetts added, “The gazetted end of the season would have seen us close on October 1st, in the middle weekend of the school holidays. Rather than disappoint guests the operators at Mt Buller have decided to stay open another week to make the most of this bumper season and excellent snow conditions. There are some very attractive spring discounts and specials that I think will make many families consider including a snow escape in their holiday plans this October. ”

Mt Buller has the entire 300ha ski area all open with an excellent snow cover of between 142-180cms of deep snow and all lifts available for operation. The Ski & Snowboard School will offer lessons through until the closing of the season and there is a packed calendar of fun spring events scheduled.

Spring discounts in resort include up to 40% off lift passes and selected lessons, Kids Stay Free accommodation deals, discounted accommodation packages at many in-resort venues and free overnight parking in resort.

This week Mt Buller is hosting the National Interschools Snowsports Championships with the best snowsports athletes from schools around Australia competing until Sunday.
