Send the invites and enjoy the #whalesherveybay!

Hervey Bay is delivering another bumper season with close whale watching encounters and the visitor experience of a lifetime, so Fraser Coast Opportunities (FCO) is encouraging residents to roll out the welcome mat for friends and family to visit this winter!

Bradley Nardi, Marketing Manager for FCO said it’s a great time to welcome friends and relatives to the region.

“We have already been seeing some fantastic humpback whale action in our backyard this year. Many locals tend to take the experience for granted, so we are encouraging the Fraser Coast to get their friends and families here, as well as enjoying this world famous experience for themselves!

“When you head out, remember to post your photos and videos to social media and use our hashtags #whalesherveybay and #visitfrasercoast,” said Mr Nardi.

This year an estimated 22,000 humpback whales have migrated from Antarctica to the warm northern waters to breed.

The humpbacks are now on their return journey and have started making their annual migration stop-over in Hervey Bay until early November. The proud new parents and the cutest calves on earth are making a temporary home in the tranquil marine environment of the Great Sandy Straits, creating a wonderland of intimate and interactive whale activity.

Hervey Bay’s world renowned humpback whales are famous for providing visitors with soul-stirring, intimate encounters with the gentle giants.
