Spectacular Pasifika finale for 20th CINZ MEETINGS

MEETINGS 2016 ended on a high note last night at Vodafone Events Centre where 650 event organisers gathered for a Pasifika dinner.

Staged by CINZ, with support from the Events Group, Austin’s Catering, Centrepiece, Pacific Linen, the Production and Music Agency and Multi Media, the Pasifika theme was captured in impressive staging, food, design, and entertainment.

Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) Chief Executive Sue Sullivan says the discerning audience was wowed by their totally unique experience.

“This is the first time a Pasifika theme has been staged for a large banquet and it could only be done in Auckland, where we have such a strong Pacific Island cultural heritage to draw on,” she says.

Details included tapa cloth table linen made from specially designed Fijian fabric, and menus featuring New Zealand’s best produce including South Island salmon, beef fillet flavoured with Pacific Island spices and complemented by Villa Maria Reserve wines.

The Production and Music Agency brought acclaimed Kiwi musicians Anika Moa and Che Fu to the stage, plus some of New Zealand’s most exciting musical and dance talents to create a cultural extravaganza.

A video created for Vodafone Events Centre by Sir Ian Taylor of Dunedin’s award-winning Animation Research Limited featured awe-inspiring 3D vision of the legend of Maui.

Sue Sullivan presented CINZ MEETINGS 2016 Awards for best exhibitors, judged by a team of Australian hosted buyers.
