The Celts: Blood, Iron & Sacrifice. Oh, and don’t forget the Art!

The British Museum’s current exhibition on Celtic art and identity has inspired us to focus this month’s newsletter on Britain’s shared Celtic heritage.

Celtic Art & Identity at the British Museum

Modern scholars like to give ancient civilisations their own epithets; the Romans were mighty, the Greeks clever and the Celts… mysterious. It is the last of these that the British Museum has sought to address with its current exhibition on the art and identity of the Celtic people.

It is good to see then that the British Museum has done here what it does best: taken stunning cultural artefacts, ranging over 1,000 years and 4,000 kilometres and pieced them together in a fascinating and intriguing exhibition that will delight any lover of history.

Exhibition on now at British Museum, Great Russell Street, London, WC1B 3DG until 31st January 2016. Click here to book.
