HOTEL DEVELOPMENTS HELP TOURISM SECTOR RANKING

Aloft Sydney
Hotel developments have been singled out as contributing to Australia’s jump from 13th to 7th place on the World Economic Forum’s latest Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report.

With Sydney attracting more developments and refurbishments the announcement this week of Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ new Aloft brand to be launched in Sydney in November next year, was another welcome addition to the city’s hotels.

Located on Pitt St in the CBD, and close to Koreatown, the hotel will feature 136 rooms and retain elements of the historic 1909 building. It will also feature loft-like guest rooms with many amenities signature of the Aloft brand: signature platform beds, walk-in showers, complimentary bottled water, and signature coffee. Aloft brand’s signature 24-hour gourmet food and beverage area Re:fuelSM will open on the ground floor.

Other recent announcements include the new luxury five star Sofitel Hotel being built in Darling Harbour as part of the International Convention Centre (ICC), QT Bondi Beach, Vibe hotel in North Sydney and Pullman Sydney Airport.
