Tripadvisor reveals results from its romance survey 2015

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, revealed the Top 25 Romantic Hotels for couples to plan getaways this Valentine’s, as rated by TripAdvisor travellers in India and around the world. Interesting trends from its ‘Romance Survey 2015’ with 682 respondents from India were also shared.

Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor India said”A holiday, especially planned around Valentine’s Day is a great way to rejuvenate the romance in a relationship. Over the years as Valentine’s Day has gained popularity across India, we see an increasing number of Indians planning a break around it whether within or outside the city. It is also encouraging to see that that majority of the respondents to our survey are not deterred by threats from certain organisations and will continue with their celebrations as planned.”

TripAdvisor’s Top Hotels for Romance raise a toast to Valentine’s Day and offer a perfect setting to enjoy this special day. The list has a mix of luxury and boutique properties to suit the individual preferences of all travellers.

Key Highlights from the ‘Romance’ survey:
  • 71% respondents think hotels and accommodations should incur expenditure and add additional security personnel on Valentine’s Day to instil a feeling of security in their couple-patrons
  • Of those planning a break around Valentine’s Day:
- 25% plan to travel out of the city
- 25% plan to travel out of the country
- 50% plan to stay within the city but at a hotel/resort/spa etc.
  • 75% also opined that Valentine’s Day getaway is an overhyped concept and that they would go on a romantic holiday with their partner anytime in the course of the year.
