SUMMER IN SYDNEY SET TO COME ALIVE WITH SYDNEY FESTIVAL

International visitors and Sydneysiders will be treated to another spectacular Sydney Festival line up of performers and artists this summer, with a feast of free and ticketed events with acts from all over the globe.

On from 8 – 26 January 2015, the Sydney Festival program, launched this week, will boast over 19 world premieres, 11 Australian premieres and 22 Australian exclusives in venues across Sydney, Parramatta and beyond.

One exclusive performance, proudly supported by Destination NSW, is Tabac Rouge from celebrated Swiss artist, James Thierrée. Featuring as the headline act for Sydney Festival 2015, Tabac Rouge is set to wow audiences with acrobatics, music, dance and acting.

Destination NSW is also supporting six other spectacular Sydney Festival acts and productions from Brazilian superstar Seu Jorge, India’s Roysten Abel, Australian Kate Mulvany, the boundary breaking Latvia Radio Choir, circus theatre show Timber, and Tex Perkins and The Tennessee Four.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said, “Without doubt summer is an incredible time to visit Sydney and with Sydney Festival bringing such a unique line up of performances, it’s not to be missed.”

“From free concerts in the Botanic Gardens to circus and cabaret shows in Hyde Park, Sydney Festival really transforms the city in January. There’s also the chance to climb through the multi-dimensional giant art installation, Higher Ground, with plenty to see and do during the day and night,” she said.
