Bruce Lee's Wax Figure Inspires Sydney Students in a Unique Kung Fu Class

Sydney has welcomed the arrival of one of the world's greatest martial arts icons - Bruce Lee. The wax figure of the kung fu star was greeted by young martial arts enthusiasts who celebrated his arrival by taking part in a unique class held in the Chinese Garden of Friendship.

Dressed in the iconic yellow and black jumpsuit from his final film, Game of Death, the American born martial arts star was at the forefront of the kung fu class, demonstrating one of his signature moves to the excited students.

The kung fu students from the Sydney Self Defence Centre - aged between 5-10 years old - were lucky enough to have the first glimpse of the new wax figure who will be on display at Madame Tussauds Sydney for a limited time only. Dressed head to toe in their kung fu uniforms, the students cheered as their hero Bruce Lee was revealed as the next exciting addition to the Darling Harbour attraction.

The kung fu legend has been responsible for turning martial arts into one of today's biggest film genres and has been hailed as the greatest icon of martial arts cinema. This year also marks the 40 year anniversary of the star's untimely death. Seen as a role model over the world, Bruce Lee recognised the importance of teaching martial arts to young people and opened his own martial arts school in 1959.

Kristy Enright, spokesperson at Madame Tussauds Sydney commented, "We are delighted to announce that the much anticipated figure of Bruce Lee has now arrived to Madame Tussauds Sydney for a limited time only. Bruce Lee's achievements and contribution to martial arts has had a profound impact globally and we are sure he will be a big favourite among guests".

It took over 800 hours to immortalise the star, with 140 of those hours being spent on inserting each strand of hair. The figure was created by Madame Tussauds sculptors who watched hours of Bruce Lee films to perfect his look, which portrays Lee as the martial arts movie star 'Billy Lo' from his final film Game of Death.
