Escape for the fun of it at the 16th annual Bermagui Seaside Fair on Saturday 9 March, 2013. The town of Bermagui on the NSW Sapphire Coast comes alive each year with the annual Seaside Fair - and it isn't just the small fry having all the fun!

Save the date in your diary, for a day of fun filled activities enjoyment. The day kicks off at 8am for the Poet's breakfast (with bacon and eggs) or the Blessing of the Fleet at the Fishermen's Wharf, an important ceremony in a coastal town where fishing plays a vital role in the local economy.

With the solemnities over, it's time for all of the favourite funfair attractions. There's a huge Street Parade at 10am, with a fabulous collection of entries from the local school and preschools, along with members of various clubs. Floats aplenty with everyone in fancy dress to the theme of the year makes for a colourful spectacular.

QUESTACON also has their show "Making science fun" at 10am. QUESTACON is the National Science and Technology Centre of Australia and presents free games, quizzes and activities to explain science to children and teenagers in a fun and exciting way.
Grab a bargain with over 100 market stalls selling all manner of food, refreshments, crafts and produce, or bid at the Auction. Items up for auction include a signed 2012 NRL premiers Melbourne Storm jersey and a Sydney Bridge Climb. The auction is held on the main stage on Dickinson Oval and commences at 12.30pm. There will be 2 stages of entertainment including song and dance, drumming and gymnastics, professional musos and teen talent.

Drop into the Model Boat Expo at the Country Club, the Photography and Arts & Crafts Exhibitions at the Surf Club, or take a short stroll to the Fishermen's Wharf for Chalk Art, Police and Fisheries displays, the Water Police launch of "Falcon" and the Art in Place Themed Art Exhibition.
Golfers can take a shot at the Hole in One on the beach. Try the Sandcastle Competition, carnival rides and interactive displays. Enjoy Zamboni the Magician and the Pet Pageant. Kids will not be disappointed at the free novelty events on the netball courts which is also a good place to rest with youngsters.

There is easy access to nearby Sculpture on the Edge and of course, a spectacular fireworks display over Horseshoe Bay to finish the day at 8.45pm.
Proceeds from the Bermagui Seaside Fair are donated back to youth and community projects in the local area, with over $33,000 being distributed to date. Entry is free. It is an alcohol-free, award winning tourism and community event. The Bermagui Seaside Festival literally has something for everyone, and everyone seems to have fun, no matter what age they are.

Market Stall
Located on the far south coast of NSW, Bermagui is a seaside town on the Sapphire Coast, which is three hours' drive from Canberra via Cooma or a five and a half hours drive Sydney, or an eight hour drive from Melbourne. There are also regular daily flights from Melbourne or Sydney via REX Airlines into Merimbula, and regular inter-city bus services.
