BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort Takes Home Top Prize at Australian Tourism Awards

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort has been recognised as the best in the business after being awarded the title of Australia's Top Caravan and Tourist Park at Friday night's presentation of the 2012 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Hobart.

The park was up against stiff competition, with six out of the seven finalists part of the BIG4 Holiday Parks group. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort owners, Greg and Naomi McKinnon, believe the qualities that make them the number one park include consistent quality service, a focus on the customer, looking after their staff and being flexible and innovative.

"We would like to thank our whole team for delivering constantly superb customer service and making the little things count every day. We know that if you believe in your staff, they will be passionate about looking after your guests and your product," said Greg and Naomi.

"Winning the award is a huge honour for the team, we're really proud of everyone's effort," they added.

Set amongst 26 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers a relaxed, family friendly environment with an extensive range of quality facilities and services, extensive accommodation and friendly, helpful staff. The resort caters for a variety of budgets and tastes with accommodation ranging from camping and caravanning sites to designer decorated three bedroom condos. The park is located in Airlie Beach, the perfect base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands.

BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park also received a nod by taking home the silver while BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park was awarded the bronze.

BIG4 Holiday Parks CEO, Ray Schleibs, says it is a huge honour for BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort to win at the Tourism Awards as it recognises the park's commitment to providing the ultimate holiday experience.

'We're thrilled for BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday. To see one of our parks acknowledged for going above and beyond for their guests is just great and winning the award strengthens BIG4's position as the leading holiday park operator in Australia, and recognises the park's continued dedication to the industry," said Ray.

Along with this year's national tourism awards winners, the following BIG4 Holiday Parks were recognised as 2012's elite accommodation providers at the state awards:
