Twelve at Hengshan
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT), announced today the opening of Twelve at Hengshan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Shanghai. This newly built hotel joins the legendary Astor Hotel in Tianjin, The Royal Begonia in Sanya and The Hongta Hotel in Shanghai as The Luxury Collection brand continues to grow its footprint in China. In the last year alone, the brand made its debut in key destinations throughout Asia Pacific with hotel openings in Chennai, India; the Blue Mountains, Australia; and Jakarta, Indonesia.

"The opening of Twelve at Hengshan marks the latest milestone for The Luxury Collection as we continue our journey to open a record number of hotels and resorts in Asia Pacific in 2012," said Paul James, Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and W Worldwide. "We are thrilled to debut this chic urban oasis in the heart of China's most cosmopolitan city," continued Qian Jin, President for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Greater China. "As the newest member of The Luxury Collection brand, residential-style Twelve at Hengshan is an inspiring addition for well-travelled global explorers seeking unique and enriching experiences."

Situated in one of the most historic and fashionable areas of Shanghai on the renowned tree-lined Hengshan Road, Twelve at Hengshan is a residential-style urban retreat poised to become an iconic building within the city, with its striking contemporary architecture contrasting the neighborhood's traditional charms. The 171-room hotel reflects the creative collaboration among some of the world's leading architects and designers. Distinctive interiors by New York-based famed hospitality design duo Yabu Pushelberg perfect an "East meets West, Past meets Present" concept of bespoke Chinese and contemporary furnishings, hand-painted Oriental screens, silk lanterns and Oriental latticework. Italian architect Mario Botta, whose celebrated structures include the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, created the contemporary courtyard as well as hotel's façade, which is dressed in more than 20,000 natural terracotta tiles.

With its stylish design and unparalleled service, Twelve at Hengshan creates an atmosphere of distinguished opulence in each of its guestrooms and suites; including the 1108 square foot Presidential Suite with large marble bathrooms, deep-soaking tubs and high-tech amenities. Additionally, Twelve at Hengshan offers a spa unmatched in Shanghai featuring 13 double treatment rooms and an exquisite VIP suite, giving guests access to a luxuriously indulgent mud bath room, scrub table and an ice fountain. The 2336 square foot spa is an oasis of refinement and relaxation while a 24-hour fitness center provides state-of-the-art equipment overlooking a large indoor swimming pool and three Jacuzzis with prominent floor to ceiling windows.

Two signature restaurants and a lobby lounge offer authentic dining experiences coupled with unrivalled service. 12 Hengshan features the finest Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine in an elegant dining room overlooking a Suzhou-styled garden, with eight private dining suites, while Tops & Terrace serves international cuisine in a French boulangerie setting with an open kitchen and extensive wine cellar.
