Tourism Awards Announced for NSW

Congratulations to the winners of the recently held Tourism Accommodation Australia (NSW) Awards for Excellence 2012, the Caravan and Camping Awards of Excellence and the Countrylink Inland Tourism Awards, which saw NSW operators awarded and honoured.

The Tourism Accommodation Australia (NSW) Awards for Excellence, along with 600 representatives from the tourism industry, were held on the 26 July 2012 at the Westin Sydney, to celebrate and honour excellence in the accommodation industry.

This year the Hilton Sydney dominated the TAA (NSW) Awards for Excellence, winning six categories and being highly commended in another two. Another big winner was the Intercontinental Sydney, which received two awards including Hotel Industry Rising Star, Concierge of the Year and Engineer of the Year. Caravan and Camping Awards of Excellence celebrated business excellence in the caravan and camping sector at The Westin Sydney on 25 July.

The Best of the Best Park was awarded to BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort & Caravan Park, while both BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park and BIG4 North Star Holiday Park Hastings Point took out the award for Excellence in Environmental Innovation; and Clarke’s Beach Holiday Park awarded the Crown Lands Environmental Excellence Award for Holiday Parks. The Countrylink Inland Tourism Awards, held in Mudgee on 28 July, celebrate and recognise excellence and innovation in tourism in regional NSW. The awards include operators from Inland NSW Tourism, Riverina Tourism, Central NSW Tourism and Murray River Tourism.

Operators were awarded across 19 categories, with Green Gully Tracktaking out New Tourism Development and Big 4 Deniliquin Holiday Park being awarded into the Inland Tourism Awards Hall of Fame.
