Culture-Sport-Tourism Exchange In Vietnamese-Laos Border Areas

A culture-sport-tourism exchange program will be launched for the first time in eight Vietnamese-Laos border areas on August 16 and be wrapped up this December.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Lao Ministry of Sport, Culture and Tourism will organize the program on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement and the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year.

The opening ceremony will take place in Ha Tinh, Vietnam, and the closing ceremony will be held in Laos.

Representatives of three provinces in Vietnam (Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh) and three provinces in Laos (Xiengkhuang, Bolikhamxay and Khammouane) will gather in Ha Tinh from August 16-19; Dien Bien of Vietnam and Phongsaly, Luong PraBang and Oudomxay of Laos from August 20-23 in Ha Tinh, Son La of Vietnam and northern provinces in Laos from August 29 to September 1 in Son La, Thanh Hoa of Vietnam and Hua Phan of Laos at the end of this coming September in Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri of Vietnam and Savannakhet and Salavan of Laos at the end of September in Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue of Vietnam and Salavan of Laos at the end of September in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam of Vietnam and Sekong of Laos at the end of September in Quang Nam, and Kon Tum of Vietnam and Attapeu of Laos early this coming October in Kon Tum.

The program is to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
