Two seventh generation members of the famous Ashton Circus
family earned massive applause and prestigious awards at the first ever New
Generation International Circus Festival held in Monte Carlo earlier this month, Feb 2012.
Jordan and Merrick Ashton performed a comedy knockabout act
and Merrick a slack-wire presentation.
They won three awards:
A. 1st prize “Prix Jury Junior
International” for their knock-about comedy table act.
B. Bronze Clown also for this act
C. Prix Erich Rozewicz for Merrick’s slack-wire act.

Other competitors came from Ukraine,
Russia, Germany, Italy,
Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Netherlands,
Switzerland, China and Monaco. So you can appreciate they
were the only representatives selected from the southern hemisphere ! Congratulations to these two young Australians!
