Corporates Join Forces To Back Yorkshire As Events Destination

An ongoing innovative campaign to sign up businesses to raise the profile of the northern English county of Yorkshire as a tourist and events destination has quickly recruited 18 members.

Some of Yorkshire’s most successful companies have joined forces with the official destination management organisation for the region, Welcome to Yorkshire, to support its work promoting the northern England county on a global scale to businesses and tourists.

The businesses on board to date include Grand Central Trains, global accountancy firm Grant Thornton and utility company Yorkshire Water. Meanwhile, others companies are in discussions to also become Y30 members, a corporate collective of businesses committed to improving the perception of Yorkshire and helping develop its economy.

“It is great to be working with some of the most successful and well recognised names in Yorkshire business,” said Welcome to Yorkshire’s chief executive, Gary Verity. “The county has so much to offer and by working with our Y30 partners we can make Yorkshire the destination of choice for business and leisure tourism.”
