Newcastle Fashion Week 2011

Newcastle Fashion Week will showcase fashions from upcoming and emerging fashions designers from across Australia. Newcastle Fashion Week is an annual festival of all things fashion, design, innovation and creativity

The team of designers, hair stylists, make up artists, students and volunteers will all work together to cure cancer in style as the event raises funds for Cancer  Council. Director & Founder, Louise Mackay, was awarded Newcastle Young Citizen of the Year 2010 for her passion and commitment towards improving the treatment of cancer and fundraising to one day cure the disease.

Newcastle Fashion Week was established in 2009 as a platform for emerging designers to expose their labels to the ever expanding and diversifying fashion industry. In those three years Newcastle fashion week has inspired established and emerging fashion designers to believe in their ideas, creativity and individuality. All Runway shows are timed to run for 30 - 40 minutes with the exception of our launch event, which could run for 50 minutes or even more!

Exclusive VIP tickets are now available to the Newcastle Fashion Week Launch to be held at the Fort Scratchley Barracks, overlooking beautiful Newcastle. People will be treated to a special fashion show featuring emerging and top Australian designers such as Jayson Brunsdon, Camilla and Rachel Gilbert. People will need to hurry. to make bookings for this Launch event as limited tickets are available.

Newcastle Fashion Week acknowledges that everyone has their own style, so people attending in the audiences are invited to feel free to express their true individuality at the events. Newcastle Fashion Week Runways shows are an opportunity for the general public to put on their clothes that represent their true style – wether it is wearing jeans and a fabulous top, or wearing a great cocktail dress. The style can range from stylish casual to cocktail.

Newcastle Fashion Week will take place during the week 22nd – 27th August 2011.
